CLIMATE EQUITY
Transitioning to a greener economy could result in major, potentially unequal, social and economic impacts. Which statement best reflects your view of how these should be managed?
Climate action, economic and social justice are closely linked. I would strongly support equitable policies which don't put the financial burden of climate change on lower- and middle-income households.

THE NEXT 4 YEARS
Where the environment is concerned, what outcomes do you think the States should achieve in the next four years, in your own words?
Our natural environment is precious but vulnerable. If re-elected, my approach will be guided by these objectives: - Develop an action plan on climate change which is ambitious but achievable in our local context; - Support our transition to cleaner fuels and a low-carbon economy while maintaining affordability for our population; - Continue efforts to promote biodiversity; - Reduce environmental footprint, including by increasing the use of renewable energy; - Promote our growing reputation as a green finance centre and encourage green investment and green jobs of the future; - Encourage development on brownfield sites and not greenfield sites; - Respond to the increasing demands for safer walking and cycling; - Care for our wonderful coasts and beaches - improving access, encouraging wildlife and enhancing cleanliness and water quality.
